- yes it is against the law!
- Yes, it is against the law.
- I go by this rule of thumb: Don't move your car when a stopped school bus is within a mile radius of you. Seriously, you could splatter a little kid. That would not be cool. Plus, the bus drivers yell at you. They're very protective.
- if the school buses red lights are flashing you are required to stop IN BOTH DIRECTIONS as there will be a pedestrian crossing front of the bus, mostly like with the bus operators assistance..(or crossing guard) if you don't stop and there police car around you will get a very expensive ticket failure to yield to a school bus and in California thats one way to lose your license! plus you could ended hitting a child (which has happened)
- Genrally yes. If the bus is in operation and the flashing lights are on, the bus is stopped, and the sign is out you should not pass the bus in either direction. There are a few exceptions to this rule with stuff like 4 lane roads in certain states, but better to err on the side of caution and stop the car.
- Oh my God. Did you actually ask this question. Yes, it is against the law in any state to pass a school bus with the stop sign out.
- the law states that all vehicles must stop when next to, behind, or in front of a school bus that has it's stop arm out, with the exception of being on the opposite side of a divided highway.
