how long does it take to recieve a ticket for not stopping at a stopped school bus?

at illinois.. can i get a real answer like in days or weeks? see what happened was, someone stopped beside a school bus, not in front of it. should that someone get a ticket? and how long will it take?

1. I've always wondered how you can miss a big, yellow bus with flashing lights. A teacher went around one here last year and knocked a kid clean out of his shoes. No one needs to be in that big a hurry.
