What is the safest and cheapest bus to take to get from Washington DC to New York City?
Also, how do I get to the DC bus stop by Metro?

- I believe only greyhound/peter pan buses leave from the bus station, and I would not recommend those. But if you do end up taking one of those it is a 15 minute walk north of the union station metro. I would recommend the bolt bus (boltbus.com). It has been pretty reliable, clean for a bus, has wi fi, leather seats and takes you from Metro Center in DC to either Chinatown NY or Penn Station (this way you can avoid all the gross bus stations). Tickets range from $1-$24, depending how early you book it. This was an interesting article in the washington post that explore the bus situation in dc, you might want to give it a read: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/08/28/AR2008082803441.html Have a good trip!
- Take Greyhound or the bolt bus. They are the safest way. I believe the chinese bus is 15 dollars (Apex bus line), but it is not safe.
