Will I be able to smoke in bus stops?

When the smoking ban comes in will i still be allowed to smoke in bus stops?

1. I think so, because they're in open air really.
2. No i don't think you will be allowed as their could be non smokers in it aswell. It's all for the non smokers, where is the smokers rights?
3. I do, im in scotland we have had the ban for over a year now, you get used to it, i still smoke in busstops sometimes.

6. I haven't seen any information specific to bus stops BUT if it is a shelter with a roof and partially enclosed then possibly not.
7. Depends on where you are and how incompassing the ban is. Here, if it is an enclosed space, like the little huts with open door style, no. If its a pole on a street, yes. However, its rude as anything to smoke that close to people.
8. We are not allowed to in Scotland, its classed as a public place. even though it is open at each end. Strange.

10. We have the smoking ban here in scotland and at the stops where there is a just a bus stop sign you can smoke. However, the ones with the roof technically have three walls and it is therefore illegal to smoke though. Many people do though anyway...

13. I don't know, but sorry, i do hope not. It is still a public place, and it is still annoying when you have to stand at a bus stop and smoke is blowing at you and your children, from someone that is standing in front of you.

17. Whether the smoking ban comes in or not. do not smoke in public places. You have got the social responsibility. Active as well as passive smoking is injurious to health.
18. No your not supposed to .as its classed a public area .I live in Wales ,but people do smoke in bus stops. I know i do.
19. If the law just states public places then no you Will not. Find a copy of the law and it should be very specific about where and where not.
20. Not if has a roof and some sides. It is a nasty smelly habit and if you stop not only will your health (and all around you)improve but you will stop smelling like an ashtray full of butts.
