Anyone know good DC to NY bus services?
hi i am visiting a friend in new york and leaving from dc for a day (july 12th). i have tried "www.dc2ny.com" and really like the service but they leave new york too early that for me. I was wondering if anyone knows about "Eastern Travel Bus (ny dc express)" or "Tony Coach" and how they are compared to other buses? those are the only bus services i've found that will leave new york around 7 or 8, which is the time i would like to leave, and not earlier like dc2ny.

- try greyhound.
- Boltbus makes two trips from DC to NY, one departing at 8.30 am and the other one at 2 pm. www.boltbus.com/
- My friend, may recommend Megabus, which operates a route between Washington's Union Station and New York's Penn Station. The trip will take about 4 hours, but the trip is non-stop, so you get to New York City anywhere between 3.5 to 4 hours. Good luck Native New Yorker
- Hey, try the China bus. It's like 30 some odd dollars round trip. http://www.chinatown-bus.com/
- Try out new Boltbus service and they recently introduce in April. They operate to DC from either NYC Penn Station or Chinatown. Also, Vamoose Bus offers DC service from NYC Penn Station and serves Metro DC Roslyn Station in Arlington, VA or Bethesda Station in Maryland for $25 each. For each ticket, you get coupon. Present four coupons and you ride it for free!
- I've Greyhounded it from the Greyhound near NY/Florida Ave. It's cheap (35$ roundtrip) and fast (4 hours). Not the most luxurious thing but take a nice nap for 2 hours and watch the onboard movie and you'll be there before you know it.
