Fastest/cheapest way from Saranac Lake or Lake Placid, NY to Syracuse or Oswego, New York?

Driving not an option, one bus line takes 10 hours one way, one train service leaves too early. Any suggestions? The reason the early train is a difficult option is because I am a student and have classes in the morning, therefore it is a last resort.

1. Since you've already researched this, your best option may be to get up early and take the train... at least you'll be able to get some zzzzz's while you're on it, and it will take less time than the bus. :)
2. Im not sure what busline you are talking about, but greyhound leaves from lake placid 11:20 am and arrives at syracuse at 7:30 pm thats 8 hours. and the cost with no discounts is 58.00 one way. The amtrak leaves lake placid at 12:15 pm and arrives in syracuse at 9 pm and its costs 67.00 one way
