Bus travel between Boston and New York?
Anyone know an inexpensive bus option between Boston and New York that is NOT Fung Wah or Sunshine? A few weeks ago, some new company launched service, but I can't find it in a search. Also, anyone know about Boston Deluxe?

- Lucky Star Bus charges $15 ($25 for the 2 AM bus). Boston Deluxe website is below. (second link). I have not taken a bus between Boston and NYC and the train, while more expensive than the bus, has a better safety record.
- If you go to Greyhound.com's hot deals page, you can get a ticket $15 1-way. Greyhound does not have the best reputation but the Boston-NY didn't seem bad, the bus was clean, most of the passengers were normal, it ran on time, etc. It was nicer but slightly slower than the Fung Wah. There's also Peter Pan.
- A Peter Pan bus is more expensive than the Fung Wah, but cheaper than the train. There is also Lucky Star, but it's comprable to Fung Wah.
- Haha, good idea not going with Fung Wah. Boston Deluxe is supposed to be really nice, although I've never taken it so I don't have personal experience with it. It's also more expensive than Fung Wah (obviously) but if it's within your budget than go for it. (I assume they have a website with their schedules and fares, if you google it). Greyhound and Peter Pan have several buses, many of them express, and they're cheaper as well - they lowered their prices to compete with Fung Wah. (They're still a little more, but not a lot more - and definitely worth it.) My favorite way though is the Amtrak train, although unfortunately it's probably gonna be more expensive. It's such a nice way to travel though, especially for a trip the distance from Boston-NYC. And if you DO take the train, from Boston-NYC, just the regular regional trains are fine. The Acela trains aren't THAT much faster or nicer, they only make a couple fewer stops, and they're a LOT more money. The regular trains are still very pleasant for the most part.
- I would reccomend the Acela train, but if you must do a bus, take the Limo Liner. Limoliner.com It has nice roomy comfortable seats, wireless internet, and refreshments.
