does New York bus and subway service have a journey planner type of website like the one London & DC have?
a website that you say you want to go from here to there and it tells you what bus or subway to get and where to get on and where to get off...

- This is where you have to go. It has the maps, lines, schedules and all. http://www.mta.nyc.ny.us/
- YES WE DO THIS IS THE WEBSITE MTANYC.COM
- Actually, the MTA website (http://www.mta.info/) does not have a journey planner. It has maps, schedules and services advisories for all the subways and busses though. For a journey planner you can use Hopstop (http://www.hopstop.com/?city=newyork) or Trips123 http://www.trips123.com/trips123/plantrip_frame.html). I prefer Hopstop but you should check them both out. Also, you shouldn't hesitate to ask people, especially token booth clerks or bus drivers for directions. Most people riding the subway are eager to help and pretty knowledgable.
