Bus service from New York to Ithaca?

How to get to Ithaca using bus? Do I need to book/buy the bus tickets in advance? I need detailed answers please.

1. Try Short Line or Greyhound. I would advise you to book early especially if you are going in late August. There will be a big demand for these lines as college students go to school. From NYC - use the Port Authority Bus Terminal in 42nd Street & 8th Avenue
