How do I go from Austin to Dallas?

Aside from flying that is, what are other ways that are relatively cheap (or cheaper than flying) to go from Austin, TX to Dallas? I'm coming in from Australia, so I won't have a car either. Is there a bus/shuttle service? And approximate times? Thanks! please don't give me highway recommendations. i can google map that myself. i meant like non-driving-myself-there options thanks!

  1. Take I-35 north from austin for about 3-4 hours depending on how fast you are going and voila your there. your best bet is to try and just fly to dallas but a greyhound bus might get you there and amtrak but amtrak is to exspensive
  2. Take I-35 north. Its will take about 3 to 4 hours. You will pass through Temple and half way if usually around Waco. Oh, and once you get closer to Dallas, there will be a split in 35, the left will take you to Ft. Worth and the right will take you to Dallas. (Traffic is usually heavy around there).
  3. There is not exactly bus service, unless you take a Greyhound.

  5. Amtrak is the way to go...it's cheap and comfortable. I take the train to austin from forth worth about once a month. Go to www.amtrak.com
  6. Amtrak train service is the way to go! Takes about 4 hours 20 minutes. Costs about $55.00. My son does it all the time as it is cheaper than gas and the time is almost the same as driving. Have fun in Austin.
