am i a bad tipper?

i tip my barber like once a month and waiters about 10 to 20% depending on service. However i do not tip cab drivers or hotel maids and recently i went on a chartered bus trip and they asked everyone to through in a tip for the driver. I did about two dollors for a one day trip. When the counted they got about 25 dollars and went to ask for more and i refused but why would you tip the hotel maid or a cab driver. I work in retail i don't except a tip when i help someone pick out a drape

  1. im sorry but yes you are these people deserve more money than that
  2. Nah, you're fine.
  3. I would do better than that and i can be pretty cheap sometimes.
  4. I think that you're doing a good job. People often say that tipping 10% is rude, but I think that if the service was very bad it is about right. And 20% for a job well done.
  5. Yes! TA Forum was destroyed! Get over it, I'm not even touching it! I did my work and left. Why you keep spreading? No thoughts on white people!
  6. If the service at a restaurant is poor, a 10% tip topped by a few pennies lets the server know that they were awful. Never give a bad tip to a good server when you know the food is the kitchen's fault. 15% for lunch, and 20% for dinner is standard. Last time I checked, if you're selling drapes, you're not cleaning the customer's pubic hairs off of a toilet. That is why you tip the maid. If the room is dirty, the tip should reflect that. If the room is spotless, throw the maid $5 / night. You should tip your barber everytime you get your haircut, if that's what you mean by once a month. If the haircut is $15, throw him a $20 and call it good. The only excuse you could have for tipping so poorly is you're over the age of 55, and you think you're entitled to certain things. Well, you're not.
  7. The appropriate amount to tip a waiter or waitress is 15%. If the service was sub-par, but not horrible, tip 10%. If it was thoughtful, helpful, and wonderful, tip 20%. It's not hard to figure out... $1.50 for every ten dollars you spend. You should tip your barber every time you get your hair cut. And while it is polite to tip maids, it's not expected... however, I always do, since I know how little they make, having worked in a hotel before.
