- get him neutered. If you don't know how to train a dog, plan on taking him to classes. Obviously you dont know how to train him so...take him to a trainer.
- First get him neutered he will calm down when you do. then go to training classes at petsmart or read some dog traing books and try some things, if u stick to it it will work.
- Neutering him will not miraculously make him better. But you should get him fixed unless you want to show him , if not please do fix your dog. The best thing is a trainer or obedience classes. When ever he does something naughty give him a firm NO! and do not give him attention , if you do he will think that being naughty will = attention . When he does behave give him praise/reward depending on what you want to use. But Miniature greyhound :S
- What's a 'miniature' Italian Greyhound? I've heard of Italian Greyhounds, but not miniatures. (that's because there is no miniature) IGs are hard to house train, if you haven't already, you should crate train him until he gets the idea. At night, crate him. In the morning take him out and stay out with him for 3-5 mins, if he doesn't go, bring him back in the house and crate him for about 30 mins, then take him back outside. He will eventually have to go outside if you keep repeating this. Make sure that the crate is small enough for him so that if he messes inside he will not be able to get away from his mess and it will be an unpleasant experience. If he does mess in his kennel you want to make him sit in his mess for about 30 mins, then take him out again and clean him up, or whatever. After he's gone in the morning, feed him, and then take him out. Repeat the above process until he goes. Then you can bring him in the house and let him run around -but you have to keep an eye on him! If he looks like he's about to go or does, CATCH HIM IN THE ACT. Run at him growling a loud "NO!" and grab his scruff, lift his front paws off the ground and shake slightly. Immidiatly take him outside. Any time that you take him outside and he doesn't go, you need to crate him so that he doesn't come inside and go right away. Some helpful tips... give him a treat when he goes outside, praise him alot, and then play with him. NEVER play with him outside until he does his outside buisness, once he's gone to the bathroom you can play all you want. Make sure to keep him on a leash when you take him out to the bathroom -it makes it harder for him to goof off. Also -keep taking him to the same spot to go to the bathroom, it will help him associate better. House training is difficult, and requires a lot of work and consistancy wih some dogs and IGs are harder to house train than alot of other breeds of dog. Good luck. Edit: I just wanted to say that fixing might help, if his problem is mainly marking his territory inside the house, but since he's already 2 1/2, it can already be habit, and just something you'll have to break, nuetered or not. Nuetering could definantly help though, and I would look into it soon.
