I am going to Canada on greyhound bus and I was wondering if....?
I am going to Canada from the United States..I am traveling on a greyhound bus..I was wondering if I needed a passport or anything to cross the border...could you please let me know anything I have to know about crossing into canada/crossing back over when I come back? thanks!!

- 9/11 changed everything. Get a passport as it will be soon required to cross the border, if it hasn't been implemented already.
- Your question brought back wonderfu memories for me. After I graduated from High school in 1969, I spent several weeks travelling the US on a greyhound bus....had some memorable experiences and saw some breathtaking scenery, and....got on and off as I wished for 30 days.
- As of the URL below, it is not required for US citizens to have a passport to enter/return from Canada but you will need some other forms of identification to serve as proof of American citizenship...i.e. birth certificate, US driver's license, certificate of citizenship/naturalization. If you have a passport, that would be the easiest form of ID you can bring. That will help you through the processing much easier when you cross the border.
