- My son went from Georgia to New York on a bus, it was not a pleasant trip for him. I went from Georgia to New York on a bus and it was not a pleasant experience for me. I cannot imagine traveling from Texas to New York, though I traveled from California to Georgia when I was a kid. I would look into AMTRAK. I don't recommend flying, only because I don't like to fly.
- I didn't go to New York but I took the bus from Vancouver to the east coast. It was hell on wheels. I will never take the bus again for that distance. 2 days isn't bad but mine was about 5 days with 4 layovers.
- all can say i YIKES! you may not even arrive alive! a lot of their buss have been in accidents or even caught fire! or you will be very very cramped or even have to stand on a bus for hours on end because the bus will be too crowded and it may not even be a greyhound bus in the first place (especially from Texas! since almost all runs from Texas Greyhound using one of their Mexican affitles buses where the drivers don't speak a world of English and make up their own stops or even layover you might want to try Amtrak instead (you will mostly have to change in Chicago but at least you will be more comfy and have better food on the train
- take plane, it is same price but much faster and comfortable.
