  1. Not to go right now, but after 8th January 2008, you will need a passport to COME BACK INTO AMERIKA.
  2. i do not see the point , Alaska is an american state.
  3. Yes. Alaska is not contiguous to the rest of the US - the only way to get there by bus or train is by going through Canada. So yes, you do need a passport. This is also true by ship; the only way to get there without a passport would be to fly there (in which case your normal US id would work.)
  4. next year you will, but not right now
  5. Greyhound doesn't go to Alaska and no trains go there either. You will need to fly and won't need a passport.
  6. Passports are NOT needed for LAND travel to or through Canada until after SUMMER of 2008. I tried to find info on travel to Alaska by train or bus and could not find any. "Jonathan" could be right about that. you could call a travel agent ot CAL Greyhound and Amtrak to ask for sure. If you fly to Alaska, you will not need a passport.
  7. There is no Greyhound service to Alaska, but you can take Greyhound through Canada to Whitehorse, and connect there to Alaska Direct Bus Lines. There is no rail service to Alaska - Yukon Territory has no rail lines with the exception of the White Pass which is a summer-only line from Carcross YT to Skagway AK.
