Is it legal to have 3 high school kids to a seat in a school bus for a field trip?
I have a field trip to Birmingham, AL and the school system is to cheap to charter a bus, so they are using one school bus to take us all. The want us to have 3 ppl to a seat so they can fit everybody.

- If it is one of the newer narrow aisle buses they can legally sit three students to a seat with the exception of the two last seats.
- Most school buses are designed for 3 students in each seat on the left side (driver's side) of the aisle and 2 students in each seat on the right side (passenger's side) of the aisle. (That means 5 total students per row.) There are no age or grade limits. If it is legal to have that many kindergarten students, then it is legal to have that many high school students.
