Can someone remind me about why I should continue to take public transport to work?

By car, it takes 45mins to get to work. By BMW (bus, metro, walk) it can take anywhere from 1hrs to 1hrs15mins to get to work. For some reason, public transport is still unreliable when it comes to the schedule. Sometimes the bus drivers leave early or they arrive realllyyy late. I've never been late to my new job before but Winter is coming up and I'm not sure I want to take public transport anymore. I love to drive but the point of taking the bus and metro every morning was to leave the car at home with my husband, save money and the planet from gas fumes. Oh, and having a lot of people in a small space on wheels is never fun either. They're either sick, gross or very loud.

1. As long as the public thinks as you do, the problem will continue , because the reasons are the same. Being that if people continue to congest the roads by not taking Public Transportation than the situation will never cleared itself. As for diseases , The east has always had mass transit and if it was that bad it would have gone under decades ago. People get sicker at home , and around their families , not by using mass transit.
2. I wouldn't take public transportation to work if it took longer than driving.
