Is it possible to go from Chicago to Houston on a Greyhound Bus?
I would not mind trying part of my trip in America on A Greyhound, and then finishing it by rail. So much to see!

- Yes, but why would you want to? I mean don't mean that to be as nasty as that might sound. I say that only because we are talking about an 1100 mile trip with frequent stops at all these little towns along the way. it could be a very long trip in more ways than one. I understand that sometimes, the bus is someone's only form of transportation...but I can promise you, you'll end up regretting it. If you book Southwest or even Continental (Houston's home town carrier) in advance (and early enough) you can get some fairly reasonable air fares. Well, reasonable for this day and age. But trust me on this one---I speak from experience. It's worth the extra bucks to fly from Chicago to Houston in two hours as opposed to saving money and arriving 16 hours later...and with a very numb butt. Good luck and happy travels. PS...I live in Houston. In case you're new to the city, I think it's a great place....BUT.... the humidity is a bi*tch. And it starts getting quite humid in late March and remains so until about the first cool front in mid-to late October. Our hair looks like hell, but our skin is FABULOUS!
- Why not google Greyhound. They could help you plan that trip.
