1. hopstop.com BTW, in NYC (you don't say where you are) there are "local" buses where you pay onboard with your Metrocard as well as "express" or Select Bus Service buses where you pay at a machine at the stop and get a receipt. The driver won't usually check if you have a receipt, but if you're caught trying to get a free ride by the Transit cops the fine is like $150. This is basically the same system used in Europe. It speeds up boarding.
