Is smoking in the vicinity of bus-stops legal in singapore?

Smoking in the sheltered bus-stops is illegal but how about smoking in unsheltered areas around the the bus-stop?

  1. I just got back from Singapore, and smoking almost anywhere is illegal. The only safe bet is to only smoke around an ashtray. With the littering laws so strict there, you are in double trouble if you put your butts out on the street, too. >
  2. oh smoking is really bad. I just got back from Singapore, and smoking almost anywhere is illegal. The only safe bet is to only smoke around an ashtray. With the littering laws so strict there, you are in double trouble if you put your butts out on the street, too.
  3. Why the above two answers look the same?
  4. Smoking is banned in many places -- but not all places. It is quite all right to smoke in the sheltered or unsheltered bus stops, so long as you do not irritate the people around you. Generally, places where smoking is not allowed include public service vehicles, museums, libraries, lifts, theaters, cinemas, air-conditioned restaurants, non-airconditioned eating houses, hawker centers, hair salons, supermarkets, department stores and government offices.
  5. Hi, I am a smoker myself. And when I smoke near a Bus STop, I will stand about 5m away from it. First, although we will not be fine for smoking in unsheltered areas, but we will be fine for smoking near to queues area, such as Taxi Stand and Bus Stop. To be safe, try to smoke further from it. On the another hand. It will be good for non-smoker also. Even when we smoke, we have to be a good smoker that cares for the non smoker. =) Cheers!
