How do I get my kitten to stop attacking my Greyhound?

I have a four month old kitten Amor and he continues to run, swat, and bite at my ten year old greyhound Princess. Princess barks and growls at Amor but he just keeps coming back for more like its a game. Princess just wants him to leave her alone. I have tried distracting him with toys, squirting him with water, and yelling at him throwing things by him, and making loud noises nothing seems to help!! Any advice?

  2. LMAO...I shouldn't laugh but the visual in my mind is soo funny..Yet I know ur serious..Hope u find some solution to this problem otherwise ur kitty will be known as a bully and get a bad rep PEACE
  3. What is it about kittens and absolutely no sense!?! Is it Asian or an Abyssinian by any chance? You have tried everything that I would have suggested. One of our cat's seemed to like being shot with the water spray so that never worked for her either - she even played in the sprinklers when she was little (15 now). Our 3 year old cat still torments the 'old girl' every chance she gets so some cats are just stirrers. Hopefully it won't last forever and they may even end up best friends. Maybe you need another kitten ...
  4. Your kitten is just playing. When your dog gets tired of it, she will put Amor in his place.
  5. I've TWO REHOMED GREYHOUNDS AND WHEN THEY HAVE ISSUES i LET THEM DEAL WITH IT. BUT I'VE NOT HAD A KITTEN/GREY ISSUE. THE GREYHOUND SEEMS CONTENTED AND I'M SURE HE'LL SHOW THE KITTEN WHO'S BOSS EVENTUALLY.

  7. I know it's hard to believe, but your cat is just trying to let your dog know that he rules the house...the alpha. The fact is your dog knows she could chomp your cat pretty quick...but she won't because she knows that it would make you very unhappy, so she lets the cat get away with his games for now. Trust me when your dog gets tired of it she will put the cat in his place. Right now, they are bonding. Let nature take it's course.....they will both be fine.
  8. The kitten is playing and doesn't know any better. Princess is aged and doesn't like the rough housing . Separate kitten when it misbehaves . Don't give it catnip. Get him neutered as soon as you can. Use the spray bottle at stream spray. Just a few ideas for you. Good Luck
  9. Sell it. What is a cat really good for anyway? Unless you like the ammonia/poo air freshner they provide after every feeding. Oooor if you like the idea that if you pass in your home the cat WILL eat you eyes and anyother soft tissue it can.
  10. seperate them
  11. get rid of it!! give it to someone with cats.
  12. Don't share the dog's antagonism towards the cat. By throwing objects, shouting, and squirting, you are reinforcing the dog's belief that the kitty should just "leave her alone." Introduce them little by little. Show the dog that the kitty is also your pet and will have to share in your attention, thus best for them to mutually co-exist. Dogs are intelligent. They'll catch up on these signals from their master. And YOU are the MASTER. I too have a four month old kitten (rupert), a still younger orphaned one (jimbo) and an almost year-old cat. They all play (wrestle) with a 2 month old puppy (Sabrina). They didn't get along well at first...A lot of hissing going on. but now, they're the best of friends. As for the other adult cats (6 in all) they mutually respect each one's spaces. Rupert and Sabrina even eat on the same plate. I just don't know now to post a video here, if one could, so you can see.
