USA Bus Lines

Are the charter buses safe in the US?

Are the charter buses safe in the US? My mother is planning on going to Gerogia from SA with my 2 year old son since she hates planes and is not able to drive all the way over there. Are the buses safe for them to go in? Has anyone ever heard of people getting kidnapped or anything of that sort? I am just kind of worried. Thank you. from San Antonio to Georiga within the United States. Just to different states.

  1. assuming you get a good bus driver, they are fine. There's too many other people on the bus with for anyone to pull anything stupid
  2. excuse but what is SA? i think it means south Africa but you said the US confused now if you mean south Africa and Georgia (used part of Russia) in Europe then yes people have been kidnapped in though countries but not in the US perhaps you got you countries mixed up?
  3. In the United States, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) monitors interstate bus and truck safety.. If you will be on a bus that crosses a state line, you can find out about your chosen tour company or charter bus by visiting the FMCSA's Passenger Carrier Safety site.. http://seniortravel.about.com/gi/o.htm?zi=1/XJ&zTi=1&sdn=seniortravel&cdn=travel&tm=39&gps=309_244_1003_518&f=20&tt=12&bt=1&bts=1&zu=http%3A//www.ai.fmcsa.dot.gov/Passenger/home.asp
  4. It is safe enough, but like all forms of transportation there are risks like accidents and other emergencies. Rest Stops may be a problem area but I see no worries there either since it should b safe as there more than enough people around to notice anything unusually happening. The only problem is the length of the ride may be to much to contain a 2 year old I suggest she have a way to entertain him while taking the bus. I also suggest if you are worried getting her a cell phone and have her call and check in every now and then.
  5. to the 2nd answer SA most likely means San Antonio, Texas. But try not to worry, if you have a good driver then your safe
