USA Bus Lines

How do you get from Newark airport to the Greyhound terminal in Newark?

Preferably by public transportation. Any idea on prices? By the way, what is Greyhound like to travel on? Would have to go to Pittsburgh but never been to the States before. Thanks

  1. I do not know the details, but I would expect a fairly frequent bus service to Newark center, which would include to the bus station. All of the busses leave from one 'strip' just outside the airport, and it is easy to find. Local public transportation tends to be quite inexpensive in the US compared to most western European countries. A bus to Newark's Greyhound station might cost a dollar or two. DO have change. At least not larger than a 5 dollar bill. Bus drivers may not accept larger bills, and may even expect the exact change. Travel on Greyhound busses is ... OK. You have to understand that anyone with any money would go by air, certainly for that long a journey, and so there is a clear division of rich and poor here. It is mostly poorer people on busses, and both the ambiance and the facilities reflect that. Having said that, many people enjoy the much more earthy contacts you can have on the busses, and of course, you get to see much more of the country you are going though.
