New York Airport Service from LGA to Penn Station...what's the transfer?
Am flying into LaGuardia and will be staying at at hotel near Penn Station. Looks like NY Airport Service is my most affordable option. Saw on their website that there is a transfer at Grand Central -- first, is it a move to a different NYAS bus or shuttle? Does it require finding the boarding point at Grand Central to continue the trip? Would it just be easier/quicker to hop on the subway at Grand Central over to Penn Station?

- New York Airport Service has both buses and vans. New York Airport Service will drop you off at Grand Central on Park Av side bet. 41st & 42nd Sts where you can transfer to Penn Station bus. Subway and bus base fare is $2.25 one way. Cheapest way to buy $4.50 MetroCard at MetroCard Vending Machine at Central Terminal or Hudson Newstand.
- The NYAS bus isn't bad, and changing buses at Grand Central isn't hard, but it's probably just as fast and cheaper to take a city bus. Buy a Metrocard from the machine in the LGA central terminal or a Hudson News stand, take the M60 bus to the Astoria Blvd subway station, which is easy to recognize since the subway is overhead, and take an inbound N train to the Herald Sq stop which is a block from Penn Station. The fare is $2.25, no extra fare when you transfer to the subway. Use the same Metrocard to get around the city, and to get back to the airport.
