Public transportation in Colorado Springs?
I'm going to Colorado Springs next week (Wed through Sunday) and am wondering if there is any good public transportation or is rental car necessary? When I looked up the metro bus schedule, it said Mon-Fri ending at 7:30pm. Are there any other options or should I stick with a rental car? PS: I'm from a hot weather state and I'm worried about driving on icy roads, how's the weather? The exact specifics of what we'll do haven't all been planned. I know we're going to Pike's Peak and the Gorge. Maybe to a casino. Thanks for your help!
Public Comments
- Colorado Springs is not in the mountains, so roads melt clear quickly in the intense Colorado sunlight. If you do get a storm, simply drive at a reasonable speed: 35 in a white-out to 55 after the snowplows have cleared and sanded the road. I do not know your touring intentions, so cannot judge whether public transit will meet your needs.
- it really depends upon where your going as to whether public transit will meet your needs. There are some routes which operate later than 7;30Pm and also run on weekends. There is even a route called FREX that runs express into Denver. the specifics are necessary for a better answer.
- If i was at your place I would have stuck to car rental as it is far more convenient as well as reliable. All you need to do is go for the car that suits you in that type of weather. Just check the weather forecast for at-least 10 days to have a good idea. You can hire affordable and a good car at http://www.pointcarhire.com/ . They offer wide variety of cars and also there price quote includes many facilities include in it only. Also there main priority is customer satisfaction which one is always looking for, as you don't want to spoil your vacation due to rental car.
