When will a Female Italian Greyhound get her first period or go into heat?

I have a Female Italian Greyhound. She will be 6 months old on Oct. 19th. I can't get her spayed right away. I don't have enough money at the moment.

1. At the age of about 6-8 months, and then every 6 months after.
2. Most females go into heat at 6 months. Go to your local human society and see if they have funding for spays. I got $60.00 off my dogs spay from our human society. do this before you have unwanted puppy's.
