USA Bus Lines

How far is the Greyhound bus station downtown on 7th St in Los Angeles from the LAX Airport?

I am traveling to Los Angeles and want to know if it is cheaper to take public bus transit or taxi from the Greyhound office on 7th Street downtown to the LAX Airport?

  1. Call Greyhound and ask. You can call a cab company too but they couldn't tell you exactly because of the traffic problems.
  2. It's kinda far, you wouldn't want to walk. Bus will be way cheaper if you have the time. There should be a schedule at the greyhound station.
  3. Public transportation will be cheaper. Go to mta.net for routings.
  4. firstb the greyhound stattion in los angeles very dangerous anarea -so dangerous taxis refused to take people there! and if they need lapd -they send 7 polioce cars so its not a safe area where you coming from i highly suggest amtrak in it about 20 miles from lax to greyhound but i highly sugget you adviod greyhound even if got the greyhound even riding them you are risking your life
  5. it's a long way, about 20 miles. You would be best to just take the MTA buses to reach the LAX airport. From Greyhound take an MTA Bus #60 west on 7th street to Broadway (cost $1.50) then take a #42 bus to the LAX city bus center (cost $1.50). From there you ride to the various airline terminals on a free "C" shuttle. Avoid using a taxi as the fare would be well over $50 Good Luck!
  6. Take a taxi to Union station. It is not that far away. Then get the Flyaway bus to take you the rest of the way to LAX. It is 1/10 the cost of taking a taxi all the way.
