Is there anyway to get a seat in the bottom of the tour bus?

I want to take a holiday lights double decker bus tour in New York when i'm there in December, but is there anyway to get a seat on the bottom of the bus? I can only assume sitting on the top of the bus would get cold really fast!

1. Most bus tours like this are first-come, first-served. So get there early to guarantee a seat on the lower deck.
