  1. There are dozens. I assume you are looking for low-cost, right? In that case, forget about Amtrak, which offers great service, but the price of tickets is pretty high. http://www.amtrak.com For cheap bus tickets, check out these two companies, which have regular bus service between DC and New York: http://www.boltbus.com http://www.megabus.com
  2. The Chinatown bus runs from Baltimore to New York and is $20 each way. http://www.apexbus.com/Default.aspx
  3. Hmmm, there are a bunch I could think of. Amtrak has stops at Union Station in Northeast DC and in Rockville, Maryland. There's also a variety of busses that go from Chinatown, DC to Chinatown, Manhattan. Do some digging.
  4. You have lots of options here. First, you can take the train (Amtrak). You can get on the train at Union Station in DC, BWI Airport Station, or Baltimore Station. If you are booking more than 2 weeks in advance, plan on paying between $45 - $50. Anything later than that, plan on paying around $70 - $75. ^These prices are for the NE Regional train. The Acela is a faster but also much more expensive train run by the same people. Go with the NE Regional if you can. Or, a cheaper (but also slower and less comfortable) option is the bus. There are several bus companies. They run mostly out of the DC area. My personal favorite is the Vamoose. (http://www.vamoosebus.com) It's $30 each way, and they run from Bethesda, MD. They are fast & easy to travel with, and their buses are nice. There are several other companies (Greyhound, Megabus, etc) that run out of DC to NY. If you are looking to travel from an area of Maryland further away from DC, you may be stuck taking the train. On a side note, stay away from Chinatown buses. They have a reputation of being super cheap but also smelly and gross with staff who do not care about you or even understand you sometimes, and a bus full of China(wo)men screaming on the phone and bathrooms that don't work.
