Why Is the Media Coverage of the Tea Parties So Over the Top?
Tax day in DC. The biggest day on the Tea Party calendar! Chartered coach buses coming in from all over America! Sarah Palin was the key note speaker! Beautiful sunny day, not a cloud in the sky. Freedom Plaza...What could be more appropriate? And how many Tea Partiers were there? About 5,000. The same number that might attend a good football game between two high school rivals. So why was it on the front page of every newspaper in America? (Hey, I thought the mainstream media was supposed to have a liberal bias!)

- They only care about making money. Not what is real truth. Making people react makes them more money. Deport Murdock.
- So let me get this straight, you think the media coverage is over the top but the Tea Party itself...what are they...symbols of mildness and restraint? LOL.
- So, is this supposed to be an argument or......
- They had one in a nearby city where I live, 20 people were there in a city of a population of 50,000.
- they are but this is coverage for them and they jump at the chance. i think this tea party business is stupid anyway i mean let the president be so what he wants free health care umm what's the complaint i mean its free. I heard they were about 5,000 or close to that even more because the press love covering stuff like that because it could give the pres. somethig else to worry about. I hope this helps
- Because Rupert Murdock owns FOX and as quoted, " I'm in it for the ratings."
- Because they've read that opposition infiltrators are planning to cause a disruption at TEA party rallies, and the news organizations hope to catch some neato violence or shouting people for the 6 o'clock news. In fact, if the infiltrators don't show up some membes of the news crew might dress up as boring conservatives and stage a disturbance themselves. TIME magazine did this when they went out to take some photos of streakers for an article they were doing. But nobody was streaking that day, so the photographer paid some bimbo to strip in public for the cameras. She did, and TIME ran the photo in the magazine. It was pure staged journalism. A.k.a. PORNOGRAPHY. Then there was the famous Tawana Brawley hoax, with help from Al Sharpton. The press INTENTIONALLY doctored the medical examiner's photos to help perpetrate the hoax. THE PRESS INTENTIONALLY PARTICIPATED IN STAGING THE TAWANA BRAWLEY HOAX BY DOCTORING EVIDENCE, purely to sell more newspapers. One final thought - WHY were there any newsreel cameras to photograph the Hindenberg disaster? It was just an ordinary arrival of a passenger flight. Why were all those reporters there that day? Look that one up and see the true nature of journalism. It's all tabloid. When you understand that, it becomes clear.
- Today was a bad choice to schedule a protest. Many of us have to work, and others needed to make the tax deadline. I sympathize will the tea party protesters, but I'm not in a position to take a day off from work and join a protest, especially when I have to work tomorrow. I guess the media had invested some time, money and effort into covering the protests, but anyone could see the timing was bad even though it was symbolic to protest on April 15th. So I guess a lot of people didn't think this one through, including the media.
