My friend swears that she has purchased a miniature Great Dane puppy, is this a new crossbreed?
She says it looks just like a brindle great dane but about twice the size of an italian Greyhound. Is this just a new money making BYB scheme?

- BYB rip off scheme. No such thing as a "mini" Great Dane!
- Your friends an idiot. Yes, just a BYB scheme.
- I don't think so. Dogs are fully mature at two years of age so he could get bigger. Great Danes are large not medium sized dogs.
- Can't find anything about this breed...................
- Since it certainly doesn't exist & takes away the purpose of owning a giant breed, it is a new scheme of some sort. Dane puppy at 2-3 mos old would be the size of IG but quickly grows. Does your friend believe puppy won't grow at all?
- Odds are it's a poorly-bred brindle Boxer that someone foisted off on your friend. Ask her if she got the bridge that went with it.
- There's no such thing as a "mini" great dane. Its most likely a mutt with a scam label attatched.. odds are it probably doesnt have ANY dane in it at all.
- Nope, just more BYB lies. I wish people would take two seconds to do a little reading about these so-called "new breeds" the BYBs are peddling!
- Heck no. This 'miniature great Dane' is probably just a growth-stunted Great Dane from a backyard breeder. It's the same thing as 'teacup Chihuahuas', which backyard breeders sell as miniatures just to make more money.
- they do have some unbelievable crossbreeds now but its a BYB scheme. Personaly i thinks it's beyond horrible that humans breed animals into watever new cross breed they want.
- Some hustler saw her coming. There are no miniature Great Danes. What she probably has is a Basenji or a Whippet: they come in brindle and are about that size.
- Your friend is off the wall - there is no such thing as a mini great dane. Originally the great dane was bred by mixing a mastiff type breed with greyhounds. Someone may be messing with the breed again.
- WTF? Yea right lady... like that will ever happen Def a scam, a BYB slapped those mutts with a cutsie name to earn an extra buck I would like to see a pic if you've got one
- LOL. No. There is no such thing. She probably got duped into buying an APBT by a different name.
- She got ripped off, if you have pics we could possibly tell you what she does have, but mini great dane's don't exist.
- probably a pit bull. they come in brindle and can be quite short.
- Can I ask what area you bought this dog from? Is it a puppy or full grown?
