USA Bus Lines

How could God have let this happen?

"SHERMAN, Texas - One more person has died in the crash of a charter bus in Texas, raising the toll to 14. The crash early Friday injured at least 40 more in a group of Vietnamese Catholic worshippers on their way to an annual pilgrimage at a Missouri church. Officials say the bus slammed onto its side and then skidded off a freeway early Friday near the Texas-Oklahoma line. Sherman Fire Chief Jeff Jones says 12 people died on the scene and two in hospitals. At least six of the wounded were in critical condition. The right front tire of the bus from Houston blew out, but officials were still investigating the cause of the accident." Could the "cause" of the accident been God? If so, how could God let this happen? They were worshippers!

  1. It was an accident, people die every couple of minutes in car accidents.
  2. I think the cause of the accident was a blown tire. You might not have noticed this, but thousands of people die horrible deaths in our world every day, why the concern about these 14? I guess you also haven't noticed the GOOD people always have bad things happen. Do you not pay attention to what is going on in the world? Do you live in your room?
  3. EXCEPT THOSE DAYS SHOULD BE SHORTENED THERE SHOULD NO FLESH BE SAVED. THANK YOU D'S
  4. I asked the same thing earlier. Don't expect much of a sound answer... http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Ag0flgVb9fKzAWLKo09_FtDsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20080808051116AA6EF75 I wonder if a different viewpoint will emerge..
  5. If god exists, then god did kill those people, and if he did, it's because he simply wanted to. God set up the earth in such a way that all of these events would occur (god created all) and knew it was going to happen (omniscient). God has all power so he always does what he wants. (No one/thing NEEDS to do anything, I don't need to eat, I'd simply die). Try to avoid human-god analogies because they never work out, because humans AREN'T gods, but if you insist use this one: I decide to push a child in front of a car, I didn't hit them directly causing the death, but I'm still put in jail or considered a murderer. This is because I KNEW what was going to happen and it was my intent and I was one of the causes.
  6. God doesn't cause it, people do; or they're just accidents, caused by no one. We're imperfect beings and we can't possible predict the outcomes of our actions. Who knows, maybe the tire blew out cause some stupid kid put a nail on the road? Or perhaps a static disturbance caused by some fluid and tire friction made the tire explode? It's impossible to list all possible causes and deem one more likely than the others. Assomuch, we can't possibly blame God.
  7. God did not blow out the tire, he didn't start a fire the cost the lives of people in some apartment, he didn't raise the hand that killed a child, make the man rape the woman, cause a person to shoot another person.... People want someone or something to blame rather than setting blame where it belongs and that is on the shoulders of the guilty. Tires are known to get weaker with age. It blew out... Another article states "Among the issues investigators will consider is why the bus, owned by Angel Tours of Houston, was headed for Missouri when the company had been ordered earlier this summer not to operate outside of Texas."
  8. We all have to die and God does not promise how long our lives will be. Which makes it important to know you're prepared when it happens.
  9. On this side of life we will never know the full answer. This is tragic, certainly, but this may actually bring people to belief in God. Our perspective does not truly allow us to view the entire effect of such tragedies in life.
