What is the best way to get from JFK to Manhattan?

I am off to New York soon, and i am thinking about taking a shuttle bus service from JFK to my hotel. Which shuttle bus service company is the best. Also is it better for me to take a taxi to the hotel instead and how much approx. would it cost? Thanks!

  1. try the subway
  2. Theres usually drivers who wait outside the JFK airport they take a group of people to diffrent destinations just ask around and the price depends on where you going.
  3. take a cab its gonna be like $45 for a 10 min ride welcome to NY
  4. It has been a long time since I was in NYC but I remember the train to the plane which is a combination of airport shuttle bus and subway service back to manhattan via the A subway which will put you at midtown near 34th street
  5. Shuttle bus service from JFK to Manhattan is reasonably inexpensive. But they are not run by the Hotel(s). They are private bus companies that take you to a central point in Manhattan. After that, you must navigate your way to the hotel. That's just not practical unless you're very familiar with Manhattan. 2nd way is public bus service from JFK to subway station. Very cheap. Then subway to Manhattan. Then, in Manhattan, navigate your way to the hotel. Both methods will take about 4 hours, unless you get lost. Best method: Taxi from JFK to the hotel. Driver loads your luggage into taxi. Taxi is comfortable and smooth ride to Manhattan. If driver is talkative (most are), he'll be glad to answer any questions you might have about your visit). Arrive at your Hotel. Door man helps you out of taxi. Takes care of your luggage. Cost of Ride from JFK to Hotel: apx $40.00 . Cheap. Approximate time elapsed from JFK ot hotel 30-45 minutes. Take the taxi. Start your visit on a good taxi ride. Have fun. Feel free to contact me via this website. I live in NYC and am full of helpful information. Good Luck.
  6. Please check you previous answer. All the information is there. Good luck Native New Yorker
  7. Take a cab. Its a flat rate from JFK to Manhattan. My mom came to visit me in June, and it was $45. A subway would probably be $15, but it will take you over an hour to get into the city. I dont know about a shuttle bus.
  8. Taking a taxi would cost a fortune (about $45). Try AirTrain JFK - a public transit between JFK and Manhattan (about $7).
  9. Taxi is easiest. Share with someone and the cost isn't even that bad. http://www.taxifarefinder.com
