Are greyhound breeders the scum of the earth?

How many greyhound breeders will take a dog back if it doesnt work out at the track and keep it for the rest of its life? How many greyhound breeders keep up with the dogs they have bred and take an interest in it after it has stopped racings? How many greyhound breeders and owners will keep the dog after it has got too old to race? Any answers with actual statistics?

  1. Racing greyhounds are bred by pretty large kennels, you can't compare them to a regular breeder because they're in it strictly to breed lots of dogs for the track and make money. They have zero interest in the dogs they produce and taking a dog back is a totally foreign concept to them. Do you seriously think any reputable greyhound breeder would ever let one of their puppies go to a track?
  2. Whoa are you misinformed. A reputable breeder would NEVER breed for a racetrack or sell to a racetrack or are even involved with racing. Racing greyhound do not come from good breeders. What makes you think that every owner and breeder of a greyhound is involved with racing? You do know this breed was bred for hunting and hare coursing like all other breeds of sighthounds. Racing didn't hit big until the 1920s.
  3. Now that you are finished with your rant, ---- how many Greyhounds have you taken in to lessen the problem (since you obviously seem to think that there is one) BTW, those dog love to chase that bunny. Isn't like they are made to do something that they don't like doing. How do you feel about race horses? How about race car drivers?
