Is it safe to sleep on a Greyhound bus?
I am thinking about riding the Greyhound bus half way across the country because it's significantly cheaper than flying. The website says the route would take approximately one day and a half to get there. I am wondering if people sleep on the Greyhound buses and if it's generally safe. Not to be snotty or stereotype, but are the passengers generally okay people? Like, do they seem like the types that would assault you? I know anyone can, but I mean in general is the Greyhound bus safe?

- The issue is you, it is not the types
- If you live in NYC area consider this: take NJ Transit to Trenton then ride SEPTA to Philadelphia airport for about $50 round trip this will allow you to fly Southwest airlines to either Columbus or Cleveland Ohio.
- Greyhound is relatively safe. The driver and other passengers will generally provide a modicum of safety, even if one or two passengers are shady - just like in a plane, except you can pull over and run away in a bus. You're just stuck with bad plane passengers. Wait to sleep until there will be few stops so passengers near you don't change without your notice. Hold your bags in your hand or pin it between you and the window. If the bus is pretty empty, sit by the window with an empty seat next to you. If the bus is very full, sit on the aisle. Sit near the front where the driver can see you easily, and remember not to pick your nose. Have a nice trip.
