USA Bus Lines

I need advice, First time taking a greyhound bus!?

I'm taking a greyhound bus in a couple days and I've never taken one before, I'm looking for anything from general advice to personal experiences. How much time should I arrive before the bus is scheduled to leave? I'm hoping I will be able to print my tickets at home so I won't have to stand in line, but do I still have to stand in line to get my luggage tags? And how much luggage are you allowed to bring? If I'm just bringing carry on do I still need luggage tags? Thank you so much to anyone that can answer just one these questions!!! :-D

  1. Do not get on the bus. They are uncomfortable. the drivers have been known to fall asleep. the drivers have been known to put people off the bus in the middle of nowhere and leave people behind at stops. Many crooks ride the bus and steal things from you. Many of the stops have con artist waiting to take advantage of peope. There is no room and nothing to do. And it takes twice as long to get anywhere.
  2. make sure you don't lose your head on the bus -- it's happened before...
  3. I can't remember some of those details from 17 years ago, but I didn't have an issue going from Portland to Seattle. I sat alone and nobody bothered me. Until the last leg of the trip when a cool college girl sat next to me and we talked about college. However, a couple female friends of mine will say Do Not Fall Asleep. Both woke up to a man sitting beside them trying to molest them in their sleep. See if Greyhound's website has an FAQ link.
