Can you get off a greyhound bus before your destination?

I'm leaving on a greyhound bus tomorrow and my plans have changed since I purchased the ticket and it just so happens the bus stops in the town I need to be in for 15minutes. Am I able to grab my bags and get off or do I have to stay on it for an extra 200!!! miles?

1. You can get off, but you need to Notify the driver, and you should carry a letter with you, written that you are getting off and sign it. The thing is the driver, who works for Greyhound is responsible for you, as in, its his duty to take you where you want to go. Your change of plans is okay, just let them know. Plus it would have been cheaper to take the Greyhound to that new destination that to 200 extra miles.
