How do I get from the Lax Airport to the Greyhound Bus station in Los Angeles?

I need to get from the LAX Airport to the Greyhound Bus station to go to Reno,NV. Can somebody tell me a safe and cheap way? Because I certainly can't afford a taxi. Thanks.

  1. Search the web for shuttles LAX and look for one going downtown. Try another search for shuttle or bus LAX to Greyhound Los Angeles. If nothing found, ask at the airport. The Skycaps will know.
  2. Los Angeles is a long way from Reno. Why didn't you fly into Sacramento or San Francisco or connect to Reno? It will take you overnight to get there by Greyhound because LAX is out of the way for the Greyhound stations which are in Santa Monica and Hollywood. If you get to downtown Los Angeles, you could take the train to Reno. It is probably cheaper to fly.
  3. You should look online for cheap fares to Reno. Heck, I saw $39 fares to Seattle from LAX today.
  4. i heard rumors that greyhound is going bankrupt so they wont have any buses to nowhere a lot of their buses are no longer even operated by them but by a contractor like Curreo, Vermont transit and TMNO buses and the greyhound station in los angeles is the WORST and MOST dangerous place to be in Los Angeles its located smack dab in the middle of SKID row!@ no taxi driver will take you there ! you would be just better off to fly from Lax to Reno if you are already at Lax.. it would be a lot faster and safer too if you could get a bus to reno NOw if YOU have to get to greyhound you would have to first take a lot C bus to the city bus center then take Metro 439 to 7th and Firgora then on Flower and 6th take a line 60 or 62 (this will take about 2 hours) or you could take G bus to the Avattion station then the blue line to 7th strreet then the line 60 cost is $5.00 (for a day pass) unles you would want to pay $1.25 on each mode of transit) also note greyhound also has a stop in Hollywood their buses are smelly the drivers don't get lost etc some driver don't even speak english
  5. From the airport, take the Union Station Flyaway shuttle. It will drop you off at Union Station in downtown. From there you can take DASH bus B to Olive/6th, and then Metro bus 18 to Alameda Street, or you can just take a taxi.
  6. Wow - the Greyhound station is in a rather bad part of Los Angeles near Alameda and 7th Street (on 7th Street). The most convenient way to get to downtown LA (Union Station) is by the FlyAway Bus which is $5. From there you will need to take a taxi but it is roughly a $6-$8 fare from Union Station to the Greyhound Station. If you are a brave soul there is also the MTA bus service. I know the Metro Rapid Transit bus #760 (this is an express bus so the stops are less frequent) runs nearby and the MTA bus #60 also passes close by but do not know the hours these buses run. I don't know the connecting bus routes but you could google "MTA Los Angeles". I also don't know what MTA bus fares are either. Good luck.
