How does the school bus system work in LA? I'm writing a script, and live in UK.?

Are there bus stops? Do buses arrive at the school? Or do buses arrive at your home? Thank you.

1. california does not have busing for public schools. students are responsible for their own transportation.
2. California has PLENTY of big yellow school buses to get the students to school all over the state. School buses pick kids up from school bus stops and take them to school in most areas. In more rural areas, school buses will stop at individual houses to pick up kids. In some inner city areas, there aren't school buses. The students take public transportation (city buses) to school. Depending on which part of L.A. you're talking about, it could go either school bus or public transportation.
3. it depends a lot schools are overcrowed so alot of students are bussed from the school in their neighboorhold where they would normally go to school to other schools far away ( for a exmaple a lot students get bussed from south central to schools in the valley some of students have to ride the school bus for over 1 hour and have to depart the pick up point at 6am in the morning and dont get home till past 7pm
