What happens when you get a citation for passing a stopped school bus in North Carolina?

I have never gotten in trouble with the law before. This is my first encounter. In my opinion the bus was not stopped and it did not have its sign out but the officer said it was so there is no use in arguing with him. The citation says that I have to go to court but what will happen in court and what do I have to do?

1. it a ticket you will prob have to plea guilty or not guilty
2. well, if it's anything like florida...it's a 180 dollar fine and four points i believe. i would suggest next time, don't be in such a hurry to get past a school bus...it only takes a few minutes to pass the bus after the pick-up !!!
