Fundraiser Ideas?
I teach 2nd grade and we are trying to plan an extended day field trip for May. We are having to get charter buses to go on this field trip because regular school buses in my school district will not take extended days. Is there any type of fundraisers you can think of we can do to raise money to help with the field trip. I work at a very poor school and the children aren't able to go very many places that's way it's so important for me to make this happen. I thought about bake sales, silent auction, penny wars (ask kids to bring in change and see who gets the most change boys or girls). Our school will be having a Bazaar and I thought we could sell donuts, but wasn't sure how much to sell them for. Any suggestions? Thanks for your help

- Sell your donuts for $.50 a piece.. It's coming close to the holidays.. maybe you could get the kids to do a CHRISTMAS play or a Christmas Concert or, make T-shirts and sell them at the bazaar... you could even make them in CLASS (part of ART APPRECIATION..) you can go to a Walmart or Kmart and get VERY INEXPENSIVE WHITE T-shirts... (by the bag) you can get all different sizes... and teach the kids how to TIE-DIE the SHIRTS.... they will have a ball.... you can get really creative with the shirts and then SELL the shirts at your Bazaar as HAND MADE TIE DIED SHIRTS... what parent wouldn't buy the shirt made by his or her own child? You could sell each shirt for maybe $10---kids could even PERSONALIZE THEM if they wanted to... so if you bought a package of 3 shirts for $6 and sold those same shirts for $10 EACH, you'd make $24 PROFIT for those 3 shirts... all you would need would be the T-shirts, a couple of big metal buckets (for the die pools), Several colors of clothes die (from a grocery store), Rubber bands--(all schools have those) a bunch of wire coat hangers to hang the shirts and a mat for the floor above where you will hang the shirts to dry....MOST of the needed equipment could be donated by parents... I'm sure they have coat hangers and buckets and maybe a rope that you can string across a room to hang the shirts on and a parent could donate a TARP to put under the wet shirts so that the floor wouldn't get all "tie-died"....
