How old do you have to be to ride greyhound alone in california?
Someone told me you have to be 18 to ride alone on Greyhound. I think this must be incorrect. Please advise.

- - Children who have reached or passed their 2nd birthday, but have not reached their 12th birthday will be charged 40% less than the full adult fare. - The child must travel on the same itinerary as the passenger paying the full adult fare to quality for the discount. - Up to 2 children ages 2 thru 11 will be allowed to travel at 40% less than the full adult fare for each passenger paying the full adult fare when all passengers are traveling on the same itinerary. Any additional children ages 2 thru 11 in the travel party may be subject to paying the full adult fare. - One child who has not reached his or her 2nd birthday when accompanied by a passenger 15 years of age or older will be carried free when not occupying a seat to the exclusion of another passenger. - Children who have not reached their 2nd birthday and will be occupying a seat to the exclusion of another passenger, will be charged 40% less then the full adult fare, when accompanied by a passenger paying the full adult fare. The child must travel on the same itinerary as the passenger paying the full adult fare to quality for the 40% discount. - Children who have reached their 12th birthday will be charged the fare applicable to adult passengers. - Children's fares will be based on the full fare paid by the accompanying adult. If the fare paid by the accompanying adult prohibits reduction for children's fares, the child's far will be the same as the adult fare. - No children's fares will be sold to casinos. - All passengers who have not reached their 15th birthday must be accompanied by a passenger 15 years of age or older. - Any passenger under the age of 8 must be accompanied by a passenger at least 15 years of age or older at all times. Passengers between the ages of 8 and 14 years of age inclusive, may travel unaccompanied at full adult fare if the following conditions are met: * The passenger's trip will begin and end on the same schedule. * The passenger's Trip will be no longer than 5 hours in duration. * The passenger's trip (origin to destination) must take place during daylight hours only. * Transfers are not permitted. * Both the origin and destination stations are full service agencies or company operated facilties. * The destination station will be open at the time the passenger is scheduled to arrive. * Parent, Guardian, or Legal Custodian of the child must complete and sign the Unaccompanied Child Form authorizing the child to make the trip and return this to the Customer Service Supervisor on duty at the station. This form specifically names the person authorizing the trip and the person meeting the child at the destination station and the telephone number(s) at which this person may be contacted. It also provides an emergency contact name and the telephone number in the event it is needed.
- bet yet dont ride them in the first place they are the wost way to travel in the first place there have been many times the bus driver got stopped for speeding or cant speak English or got into an accident or the bus caught fire if your bus catches fire greyhound wont even refund your money! why oh because YOU already started your trip and if have to make connection good luck! the connection bus will not wait for your bus if its late and greyhound will not put you up in hotel either also greyhound has stop servicing a lot of cities in California as well so you might not even be able to take GREYHOUND there in the first place! as for alternate try amtrak and yes you can ride amtrak when you are 15 years old
