Why do Highschoolers have to be picked up at bus stops instead of their house?
I rode the bus since pre-k, no in highschool i have to walk to a corner as a "bus stop". My bus driver Kim allowed me to stand in my drive way which is only less than a block away from my house. Now, i have to stand at the bus stop/corner. What is the big deal! In elementary and middle school i could stand in front of my house! i'm pisted please help ASAP!

- If the bus driver picks you up.. then the other 40 parents will want their children picked up at their houses too. It would add an incredible amount of time and driving to do so. The bus stops are planned to be the most expedient and direct route.
- uhm well i dont know but ever since kindergarten in my school district you have to walk to a bus stop. it shouldnt be that far to walk to yours but i mean it might be a big deal to you. but dont worry about it.
- Wow, is it really that difficult to walk to the bus stop? Funny though, I just asked a question about society being so impatient and feeling entitled to things they haven't earned... http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=At_zU9ZuUT8mQp5PA5kMd_Lsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20090819130104AA1C9bE
- Little elementary school kids are more likely to get kidnapped crossing the street than a freaking teenager, who can defend themselves. Duuuhhhrrr.
- aaaaaaaahhhhhh poor old hi schooler cant make it to the corner/get used to it/life only gets rougher as people expect you to be more responsible for yourself as you get older/i know its tough//when i went to hi school you would be more or less in the wimp spot
- They have to account for 4 grades of student although most juniors and seniors drive. When there are more people riding, it would be ridiculous to stop at every house. If it is "only less than a block away" from your house, why can't you walk. We would all love for every aspect of our lives to be laid back with no work at all, no energy exerted, but that is impossible. People have to walk much, much farther than you do. 30 years ago, kids had to walk a mile or more to the bus, if they even had one. My father said up until 9th grade, he had to walk 3 miles to school uphill both ways. In 9th grade, only one mile to the bus. So suck it up, it'll only be for a couple years, millions of other kids do the same thing year after year.
- Three reasons: 1:- It gives you a taste of becoming a responsible adult 2:- The bus driver is exactly that, NOT a personal taxi driver for adolescents 3:- You could do with the exercise !!!
