How safe is it to ride a greyhound bus?
I'm sixteen (will be leaving on my birthday possibly, so then I'll be 17) and I really want to go to Arizona! But airplane tickets are sooo expensive and if I were to buy a greyhound bus ticket now it'd be only 100 dollars. I was wondering how safe it was if I were to go by myself? I don't know if I'd get raped or something :< Any idea on how to convince my mom it's safe?

- its safe my mom always goes to LA on a greyhound bus so have i its pretty safe
- It usually safe if you have to stop don't go to far from the bus.
- You'll be o.k. if you sit close to the driver.
- Well, it is quite safe. But just to be sure, why not take a friend along?
- If you're 16, then I'd suggest riding the train instead (Amtrak). It's slightly more expensive, but the travel is much nicer. Greyhound is relatively safe. The only problem is that it's pretty inconsistent. There's a chance that you might get stranded in a city overnight, and when you're sixteen that could potentially be tough. Amtrak has a much better chance of getting you where you want to go on time. In my experience, Greyhound stations and buses are quite safe. I've ridden Greyhound dozens of times and nothing has ever happened to make me feel unsafe.
