Any recent updates to prices and preferred bus lines from Nogales AZ. to Guadalajara?

We are traveling from Tucson, AZ. to a small town in the state of Michiocan Mexico (Pastor Ortiz) which is about 3 hours drive East of Guadalajara, or about 45 min south of Irapuato. The plan is to take an executive bus to either Guadalajara or Irapuato, then get a rental. We've been there once before, but flew into Leon and took a rental from there. Any help, advice, etc. would be appreciated. Thank you, DT

2. Regarding taking the executive bus from Nogales: Don't skimp to save money!! Paying more to go on one of the best lines is the way to go. The difference in comfort level, especially for such a long trip, will really make the higher price worthwhile. Bring your pillow and blankie! Also, re: car rental: You will have many more options (for everything) in Guad. The question is, do you feel comfortable driving from Guad rather than Irapuato? It's a longer drive, but could be a worthwhile way to see the area, if you are generally competent in Mexico. What's takes you to Pastor Ortiz? I've never been there, is there a special festival or something?
