USA Bus Lines

Would this be considered passing a stopped school bus?

I was behind a school bus and then went to the next lane. Then a second later it stopped and i saw the light flashing. I stopped itmeidatly and ended up being next to the school bus right about the middle of it between the signs. Is this considered passing a school bus cuz I didnt pass it and I stopped in the middle of the bus area.

  1. as long as you where next to it when the lights went flashing...you couldve just passed it by since you where already there or stop...it doesnt matter...it wouldve still been fine....and its a whole lot better then slaming on the brakes and causing an accident.....and the bus driver shouldve looked to see if it was clear before doing that....
  2. You did not pass the school bus. The law dictates that if a school bus has its lights flashing and the stop sign is out, then all vehicles must come to a stop. Since you were in the middle of the bus or near its side, you did not break the law. The only way you would be guilty of passing a school bus is if the stop sign was already out and you kept moving anyway. So you were fine. You came to a complete stop.
  3. nope, but if u kept going u would've passed it. answer please? http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=ApON5tpkG5v0g.VfuWosuy8hxgt.;_ylv=3?qid=20090505151300AAskCte
  4. no you did not you got lucky this time because from what you are telling me, it sounds like the bus put on it's amber (yellow) warning lights late and you still stoped before you passed the bus and the stop sign. i hope this helps
