public transit schedules?

today i was at a bus stop and as i was looking at the map for that route i was wondering , who makes these? wats there job title ? does it pay well ? ive always loved geography especially when it comes to my city and even though it sounds kinda stupid i often find myself just looking at maps of my city (ottawa) and actually enjoying it!

1. Usually the title is "route planner" or something like that. It's an interesting job, and it's fairly difficult because you have to measure the amount of demand on each street at each time of day and determine how to serve the most people with the least buses.
