Cheap car rentals in/near San Gabriel / Alhambra, CA area?

I need to rent a cheap car for a week ( am looking for around $20-$25 a day ) in the San Gabriel / Alhambra / El Monte area of Los Angeles, CA. Any suggestions? I already tried the American ones - Avis, Enterprise, etc, and they're WAAAAY too expensive. Preferably, the rental place would be within at most 1 mile of the nearest LA metro bus stop...(I don't care how the car looks as long as it doesn't break down). 1. Have you looked at Budget, Dollar, Rent a Wreck ?? Enterprise has online specials sometimes but if you just walk in w/o booking online, they will charge whatever they can get away with
