Do you need an state issued id to ride a greyhound bus?

I am moving to CT and I have a friend who wants to come visit but has no id, can he ride a greyhound bus without one?

1. It certainly wouldn't hurt. Go to www.greyhound.com to get their official policy on this matter.
2. where is your friend coming from ?(in the USA or from out the country (they yes he will need a passport if coming from out of the country if in the US he wont need id but why would your friend take the worst service in the world? Greyhound service is the Pits they lie to you they have crowded buses etc
