Best dog food to give an Italian Greyhound?
I feed my Italian Greyhound (7 months old) Innova Evo Red Meat small bites topped with Innova Evo Flex Stew. I used the Innova Evo Flex Calculator online to get the exact mix right. My vet told me today that Hills Science Diet is a better product and I should use that. WTF?

- No way is Hills SD better than Evo. Vets are always trying to sell SD because they get a kick back from the company. That's why SD is the only food vets carry for sale. I talked to my long time friend and vet and he told me that. There are a lot of grain-free foods out now that are really good quality. I wouldn't feed SD to my worst enemy.
- Evo vs Science Diet??? Evo is way way better!!!!!! Your vet dose NOT what he/she is talking about!!!!! Sometimes vet get $$$ for selling certain products. And some vets like some doctors don't know the benefits of natural food. HOPE THIS HELPS:)
- Hill's Science Diet, imho, is a far inferior product and one of the worst foods out there. The best foods are wheat/corn/soy-free, contain species-specific protein (ie: 'chicken meal', rather than 'animal meal), measure up to AAFCO standards (at the very least), and are meticulously quality-controlled. If Innova is working for you, then I would stay with that. Vets' offices make some of their money from selling selected commercial foods like Hill's. That doesn't make it a superior product.
- HAHAHAHA. Gimme a moment. ...HAHAH... Okay, really. First, know that vets get /very/ little nutritional training during their veterinary schooling. They know next to nothing about pet nutrition. Now also know that vets get /kickbacks/ from companies like Science Diet and Royal Canin for pushing their foods at their clinics. Make sense now? You are feeding one of the highest quality dog foods you could be feeding. Your vet just told you to feed low quality, expensive /crap/. Stick to your guns! Darksong~
